Apples Versus Oranges

ApplesversusOranges.com started as an idea when I was repeatedly having conversations with my brother about what our top ten favorite video games were. After repeated debates I said to him one day, "I'm not sure I know how to come up with a decent list. I have so many favorites that making one off the top of my head is just too hard to do. I wish I had some sort of thing where I could just ask myself which out of two I liked better and it could just continually rate everything against everything until the winners came out on top and the losers ended up on the bottom." After a few more debates I kept coming back to the idea and exclaimed "What if I really did make that thing in to a web site, and what if it wasn't just for video games? What if it was for everything; so you could compare Comix Zone and chocolate!" I kept bouncing the idea off people until I got some advice from my friend Philihp on how to set up the database. On June 4th 2010 I had a gallery show and wanted to finally make this "thing" for real. My buddy Adam Crane helped me set up a Linode and it was away! Now Apples Versus Oranges is real, and hilarious. I hope you enjoy it. And I surely hope that it really *does* figure out...
